Our mission is to provide products derived from Chilean hand-picked seaweed to diverse markets. We cater to businesses, developing products in the food, cosmetic and industrial sector. Based on our belief, we ensure that each step of the process – cultivation, harvesting and drying – is done to the highest standard.
We aim to generate a positive impact on the communities and the environment. Additionally, we uphold the family tradition of working with this resource.
Sustainable Production
At “Algas MG Ortiz”, we are dedicated to maintaining the highest standards at every part of our aquafarming process, ensuring that all of our exported products are of the best possible quality.
All of our crops are off-shore, meaning in deep water, off the coast of the Atacama and Coquimbo regions. In the case of wild harvest seaweed, we work from the Tarapacá region in the north, to the O’Higgins region of central Chile.
We are associated with local seashore collectors, or “seaweeders”, buying what they have collected from our management areas, generating local resources and providing opportunities for the local community.
